PETRA
the earliest known timesthe ancient Nabatean city of Petra was recently voted as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. In 1985 Petrawas designated as UNESCO World Heritage Site & Some archaeologists have ranked ancient Petra as the eighthwonder of the ancient world – a truly justifiable claim.Petra is unique in every respect, & this remote dead city is one of the great archaeological treasures in the world,undoubtedly; it is the most important famous attraction of Jordan. Much of Petra’s appeal comes from itsawesome, multicolor sandstone high mountains; it is a secluded site of steep rocky slops, towering craggymountain tops and high cliffs, into which most of the celebrated tombs, facades, theatres and stairways arecarved…Nature and architecture concur into conferring a mythical aura to the site.

Begin your visit by enjoying a walk or a short horse ride from Petra’s main entrance to the entrance of the oldcity “Al Siq”. As you reach the end of the Siq, the first and greatest monument of Petra slowly comes into view.

Amman
The Citadel:

Towering above downtown Amman, the ancient Citadel is a good place to begin atour of the archaeological sites of the city. It is the site of ancient Rabbath -Ammonand excavations there have revealed numerous Roman, Byzantine and early Islamicremains

MOUNT NEBO
Drive via the Desert Highway within the area is Mount Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites of Jordan and theplace & where Moses was buried. A small Byzantine church was built there by early Christians, which has beenexpanded into a vast complex. During his visit to Jordan in 2001, the Late Pope John Paul II held a sermon herethat was attended by some 20,000Faithfuls.

MADABA
Madaba “the City of Mosaics”. Best known for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, Madaba is hometo the famous 6th century Mosaic Map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land in the biblical world is found, with twomillion pieces of vividly colored local stone, it depicts hills and valleys, villages and towns as far as the Nile Delta& The Madaba Mosaic Map covers the floor of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George.

panel enclosing the Map was originally around 15.6 X 6m, 94 square meters, only about a quarter of which is
preserved
