Incomparable sensations. Strolling through Jemaa El-Fna Square and the souks, with their shimmering colors and oriental scents, the red city will make you dream.
Souks, with their shimmering colors and oriental scents, the red city will satisfy your craving for the best of both worlds.
The red city will satisfy your desire for a change of scenery in the blink of an eye. Horse-drawn carriage rides
Sun-drenched terraces, street performers, and other daytime and night-time activities will punctuate your stay in Morocco.
You can admire the architectural richness of the Medina by visiting one of its many Riads, small oriental palaces organized around a central patio, or recharge your batteries at the Mènera, the city’s vast garden and emblematic pool. After all, Marrakech offers its visitors a wealth of choice, drawing on its incredible diversity. Just step outside the city walls and you’re plunged into contemporary Morocco. The Guéliz and Hivernage districts offer the most modern infrastructure, international luxury, ready-to-wear boutiques, and wide, airy avenues, all in keeping with Marrakesh’s distinctive character.
At a crossroads, the Province of Ouarzazate nestles in the long corridor between the Anti and High Atlas Mountains. Amid these massive, rocky plateaus, the wadis have carved out splendid valleys that are perfect for walking—stony, silent reliefs of austere beauty, dotted with splendid oases shading kasbahs and ksour. The province is also the enigmatic guardian of exceptional intangible treasures. Authentic culture and extraordinary secular architecture blend with nature to create a unique atmosphere. An alchemy that seduces the world, and has attracted the attention of the cinema since the 60s.
Go on a getaway in the valley of the Ourika, at least for 2 nights.
To the north of the massif, you can travel along small roads bordered by spectacular reliefs. If you are craving authenticity, this is your opportunity to discover small Berber Villages hung on the side of the mountains. You can check out the local craft industry by planning a visit to a Berber market or an argan oil factory run by women.
Another idea would be to go and cool off near the Setti Fatma waterfalls, at an altitude of 1500 metres. Seven of them offer an amazing view of the Atlas Mountains.
As you can see, the Ourika Valley and its surroundings provide a temporary escape from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. However, I’d like to point out that it is more than advisable to go there in an air-conditioned car, if possible, with a guide and equipped with your best walking shoes.
Escorted by our mountain guide, we head south from Marrakech through agricultural plains to Atlas foothills. Getting to Asni, we will visit Toubkal National Park eco-museum, a great introduction to the rich diversity of the high Atlas Mountains. Then, we start walking gradually uphill to Anfa at 1400m.From there we will be enjoying panoramic views of Ait Mizane Valley and high Atlas Peaks. Following the footpath, we will reach Tagadirt village 1300m for picnic lunch and share a glass of mint tea with a local family before we carry on our walk on a mule path downhill.
This is a round-trip through the lush and dramatic Atlas landscapes for an unforgettable Berber experience and an eye-opening, hands-on adventure. We will bake bread and prepare tagine in the kitchen of a village family and get to know them better over a pot of traditional mint. We will get our hands stuck into wet clay in a ceramics workshop and try our hands at weaving a colorful kilim with the local women. We will walk through the farmed terraces to see the ancient irrigation system and the subsistence farming methods. We will also visit the charity preschool center where the local children are educated which is a great introduction to the rich diversity of this region.
One of those coastal towns where the good life and water sports complement each other. Take a stroll in the shade of its ramparts, the same ones that outline Astapor, the red city in the “Game of Thrones” series. Climb the walls and take the covered walkway: from here, you can see the Purpuraires Islands and the falcons, gulls, and seagulls that hover over this nature reserve. In the distance, surfers, windsurfers, and kitesurfers can’t get enough of the wind! Then, one stroll after another takes you to the fishing port, where sailors come to life; not far away, the fish market, where you can sample fish and seafood caught during the night. In the center of town, the medina unfurls its labyrinth of narrow streets. One of the most beautiful in Morocco, it has been classified by Unesco. Last but not least, every summer, the town is bathed in music: the Gnaoua festival celebrates Afro-Maghrebin rhythms.
To welcome you, the Mogador eco-resort opens its doors. For several years now, Morocco has been embracing responsible tourism, and this establishment is just as much a part of this ambition as the surrounding beaches, which have been awarded the Blue Flag label, a guarantee of their quality.
Here, you can relax, work out, and cultivate yourself: the enchanting Essaouira-Mogador is a destination with a thousand and one possibilities!
Dunes & Désert is delighted to welcome you to its new 10-hectare base in the heart of an exceptional oasis in the Agafay desert, offering a unique immersive experience.
